The Founders

Chalk Stream Medical was founded by Dr Jamie Coutts Donald and Dr Camilla Nuttall with a shared vision: to return to the traditional values of family medicine. With extensive experience in both NHS and private practice, they are dedicated to providing a continuity-led service where they truly get to know their patients.

Dr James Coutts-Donald, Private GP at Chalk Stream Medical

Dr James Coutts-Donald

Private GP • Specialist interest in Mental Health & General Practice

“I am passionate about my patients and ensuring that they receive the best care. I want to get to know you and what your concerns are. I aim to make the patient experience one that will make you feel comfortable, listened to and fulfilled in your expectations.”

Before qualifying as a GP, Dr James trained in Psychiatry, working across both child and adult mental health services. This background allows him to bridge the gap between traditional general practice and specialist psychiatric care, offering thoughtful, holistic support for conditions such as anxiety, depression, burnout and sleep difficulties.

At Chalk Stream Medical, he combines this mental health expertise with a full spectrum of general practice, from acute illness to long-term condition management. His consultations are deliberately longer, giving patients the time they need to be heard and to understand their options.

Dr Camilla Nuttall

Private GP • Women's Health, Fertility & General Practice

“My career aim has always been to ensure I am an approachable, compassionate, thorough and holistic doctor. I strive to provide the care that I would wish for my family or friends. Private General Practice enables this style of medicine which I feel passionate about.”

Dr Camilla holds Diplomas from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG), as well as specialised Letters of Competence in coil and implant fitting. She has a particular interest in women’s health, menopause care, fertility and early pregnancy.

Alongside this, she continues to practise broad-based general practice, caring for patients and families across all stages of life. Her consultations are unhurried and supportive, with a strong focus on listening carefully and explaining investigations or treatments in clear, reassuring language.
