The Itchen Valley — a cluster of chalk stream villages running north from Winchester through Easton, Itchen Abbas, Martyr Worthy, and Cheriton — sits just minutes from Chalk Stream Medical in Alresford. It is hard to find a more fitting name: the same clear chalk streams that give the valley its character flow through the landscape directly around our clinic.
For residents of SO21, Chalk Stream Medical is often the most accessible private GP option — closer than Winchester and far more personal.

Getting to Us from the Itchen Valley
From Easton or Itchen Abbas, take the B3047 northwards through Itchen Abbas toward New Alresford. The road follows the river valley directly into the town. From Cheriton or Tichborne, take the B3046 north — this also enters Alresford directly.
Parking: Free parking is available nearby in Alresford. There is no patient parking within Stiles Yard itself; a disabled space is available at the practice but must be pre-booked.
Journey time: 5–10 minutes from most villages in the valley.
The Villages We Serve
We regularly see patients from Easton, Itchen Abbas, Martyr Worthy, Cheriton, Tichborne, Ovington, and Avington. These are small communities where NHS GP access can be particularly limited — we know that for many Itchen Valley families, getting a timely NHS appointment often means waiting a week or more.
Meet Your GPs
Dr Camilla Nuttall and Dr James Coutts-Donald provide all consultations personally. Both are fully GMC-registered with extensive experience in general practice, and they offer something that matters especially in rural communities: the ability to see the same doctor who already knows you and your family.
