Why We Started
Chalk Stream Medical opened to give people in Alresford and the villages around it a private practice close to home. We take the time to listen properly, work out what is going on, and see it through.
It was founded in 2024 by Dr Jamie Coutts Donald and Dr Camilla Nuttall, who between them wanted to practise the sort of medicine they trained for: knowing their patients, and having enough time to do the job properly.

Both founders have spent years in general practice. What we are after is a service that bends around the patient, rather than the other way round.
How We Work
Time to listen
Good medicine cannot be rushed. Whether you need seeing today for something acute, or you are looking at health screening to get ahead of things, the appointment is long enough to do it properly.
The same doctor
Because the practice is small, you see the same GP each visit. Your doctor knows your history, which makes for safer decisions and saves you starting from scratch every time.
The whole person
Symptoms rarely turn up on their own. We look at what else is going on, from mental health to sleep, work and lifestyle, and at what is worth screening for before it becomes a problem.
Visit Our Alresford Clinic
Bowland House sits just off the high street in the middle of Alresford. It is a quiet building, and the waiting room is calmer than most surgeries.
There is free parking a short walk away and the bus stops in the town centre. There is no parking in Stiles Yard itself, but we can pre-book the disabled space at the practice if you need it.
