Race Licence Medicals
You cannot hold a competition licence without a valid medical certificate. Whether it is your first licence or your fifteenth, we can do the examination and complete the paperwork.
Dr James Coutts Donald follows motorsport closely and understands what the sport asks of drivers. In practice that means the medical is done by someone who knows what the governing bodies are looking for, so the form goes back right first time.
Which Licences We Cover
- Motorsport UK: national and international race licences, covering circuit racing, rallying, hill climbing and karting.
- FIA: medicals to the standard required for FIA international competition licences.
- Other governing bodies: ACU, British Cycling and others on request.
What the Examination Involves
A motorsport medical is a fitness-to-compete assessment. It usually covers:
- Physical examination: cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal.
- Vision: visual acuity and colour vision, to whatever standard your governing body sets.
- Medical history: conditions, medication and previous injuries that might be relevant.
- The forms: filled in accurately and completely.
What to Bring
- The medical form your governing body requires, printed off.
- Your driving licence or competition licence.
- A list of any medication you take.
- Your glasses or contact lenses, and your most recent prescription.
